Role Overview

The role of Maintenance Technician is an integral part of the maintenance team supporting centres across both brands. Reporting to the Maintenance Lead, this person will have an exciting and rewarding role, in a result oriented and fast-paced environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Maintaining areas for which you are responsible for in a safe and clean condition.
  • Carrying out repair requests (where capable) across the whole Busy Bees business as determined to include:
  • Basic electrics as permitted
  • Carpentry works and installation of replacement kitchen and changing units as required
  • Plumbing works
  • Maintain the integrity and security of the centre perimeters and ensure that all alarms and security systems are maintained in excellent working order
  • Working closely with the Centre Directors and working on monthly maintenance lists through our new designed app EXPANSIVE across both brands to ensure oversight of all maintenance tasks and completion rates
  • Supporting the maintenance lead as required with ad hoc projects to include but not limited to
  • Supporting the setup of new sites, including removal of waste, erection of furniture/cots as required
  • Transfer of equipment between Greenogue hub and centres as required
  • Attending centre emergencies and advising area managers on risk assessing any danger
  • Support the assessment of all centres for rodent activity and alert the centre manager and maintenance lead of any concerns
  • Preserving and improving the centres throughout the year including but not limited to:
    • Gardening and ground maintenance including mowing grass areas, chopping hedgerows, weeding and planting
    • Pavements and cement groves are kept free of weeds
    • Garden areas are power washed as required
    • Occasional painting of walls
  • Adhering to Health and Safety at Work Act – conducting risk assessments, and adhering to COSHH regulations
  • Reporting accidents and working closely with Health & Safety Manager on any incidents
  • Attend regular team meetings in Greenogue maintenance hub to review and support progress on maintenance projects
  • Work effectively with the online Expansive system to maintain an oversight of all maintenance tasks and completion rates
  •   Attend online support meetings with the Expansive team

Required Qualifications

• Familiarity with building maintenance practices
• Proficient in using standard maintenance tools and machinery
• Able to work independently and interpret instructions effectively
• Strong communication skills with a practical approach to problem-solving
• Capable of organizing workload and managing time efficiently
• Relevant hands-on experience in areas such as plumbing, electrical work, or general repairs is required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service, especially when interacting with centre staff across both brands.
