Role Overview

We are currently recruiting an AIM Support Worker for our centre in Navan, Co. Meath
 
The Access and Inclusion Model (AIM) Support Worker plays a vital role in supporting children with additional needs in an early years setting. This role involves working closely with children, families, and the early years team to promote an inclusive learning environment.

Role Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties:
 
  • Provide tailored support to children with additional needs to ensure full participation in the early years curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with the room leader and early years educators to implement individual learning plans (ILPs).
  • Support children’s emotional, social, and educational development through structured activities and play-based learning.
  • Implement strategies recommended by external support professionals, such as therapists and early intervention specialists.
  • Promote an inclusive environment that encourages peer interaction and engagement.
  • Assist with personal care needs where required, ensuring dignity and respect for the child.
  • Maintain records of progress and contribute to reports as required.
  • Engage with parents and guardians, providing updates on the child’s progress and development.
  • Adhere to all crèche policies and procedures, including child protection and health & safety regulations

 

Required Qualifications

 
  • Minimum FETAC / QQI Level 5 in Childcare or equivalent
  • Experience working with children in an early years setting.
  • Understanding of the Access and Inclusion Model (AIM) and inclusive early years education.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
  • Additional training in Special Needs Assisting (SNA) or relevant courses.
  • Experience working with children with ASD, sensory needs, or other developmental delays.
  • Knowledge of Aistear and Síolta frameworks.
 
Applicants must be willing to provide written references and be Garda Vetted by the company (Police Clearance will also be required if the applicant has lived outside of Ireland for more than 6 consecuetive months since over the age of 18).
 
Proof of eligibility to work in the EU must be provided.
